Sisältö
Tutustut hiilijalanjäljen mittaamiseen matkailualalla sekä sen tuottamiin hyötyihin. Mikro-opinto koostuu podcast-tallenteesta, lisämateriaalista sekä itsenäisestä pohdintatehtävästä omaan yritystoimintaan liittyen. Kokonaisuus on suunnattu erityisesti matkailualan mikro- ja pk-yrityksille, mutta soveltuu kaikille teemasta kiinnostuneille.
Suoritettuasi opintokokonaisuuden opit perusteita hiilijalanjäljen laskemisesta matkailualalla ja sen hyödyistä matkailualan mikro- ja pk-yrityksille muun muassa liiketoiminnan kannattavuuden, ennakoinnin ja brändin näkökulmasta.

We live in a hectic world. We are surrounded by so much information and noise that affects our ability to concentrate. We’ll show you how to improve your concentration skills by going into nature, observing animals and taking photographs
What do you learn?
In this course, you learn how nature and animals can positive affect you. We’ll teach you how to concentrate on nearby things to feel the healing effects of nature and animals. You’ll get tools to empower you from working with nature and animals as well as to improve your wellbeing both in work and your free time.
You learn about the concepts of the eco-social approach, empowerment, and reflection.This course is one way to support relaxation and reflection skills as well as develop your eco-social thinking.
Who are your instructors?
Your instructors are very experienced teachers, Sari Miettinen and Kati Vapalahti. They have worked with different communities by supporting their empowerment and reflection skills. They have worked as lecturers on these themes for almost 20 years.
What’s in the course?
This course includes four parts. First we introduce the main concepts of this course. The second part focuses on nature photography. The third part focuses on interacting with animals and observing them. Finally, there is the conclusion which reflects on the major themes of the course.
Work your way through the all the course material in the order that it is displayed on the page. This way you will start with the basics and then move on to the more challenging topics. It should take you about 10 hours to complete this course.
How to pass?
To pass this course, you will need to complete all the course activities and get at least 75% of them correct. You will also need to give us some feedback at the end of the course.
Once all those parts are completed and we have received your feedback, we will check all everything is completed and prepare your certificate. Please be patient, as it might take us about a week to email your certificate to you.

What could I do to help stop the climate crisis?
The twenty-first century is the time of the sharing economy. It has become a unique way to perceive personal services, transport, accommodation, media, and entertainment industries. This course introduces the sharing economy and explores the benefits it delivers to us in practice. The sharing economy impacts not only economies and businesses but revolutionises the way we consume. With the growth of the sharing economy, consumers are faced with a new innovative range of opportunities. Industries are challenged to provide an excellent consumer experience.
The aim of this course is to trigger changes in consumer behaviour and as such, it focuses on the disruption of the customer experience. The emergence of the sharing economy shakes the foundation of the traditional way of doing business and creates a niche for new business models that are available for anyone.
Content
This Micro Course consists of 2 parts which include self-study material, videos, and quizzes. The workload on this course is approximately 3 hours.

Tasks
To complete this course, you will need to pass 5 tests and submit course feedback. Please go them through in the order they appear on the Content page. This way, you’ll start with the basics and move on to the more challenging topics.
Assessment
The Micro Course is assessed on the scale of Pass/Fail. To receive a certificate via email, you will need to complete all mandatory activities, and at get at least 50% of them correct.
Skills you gain
After completing the course, you are able to:
- Describe in practice the benefits of sharing
- Practice your new skills on how to reuse home textiles, clothes, furniture and household items
- Enjoy your new creativity
- Start exploring your new skills by setting up a sharing point
About the instructor
Your instructor is Slaveya Hamalainen, MSc in English Philology and Cultural Anthropology, MBA in Economics and International Trade. Previously a Total Quality Manager at a paper mill. A devoted senior lecturer in English and Business in English with over 15 years of experience teaching students from various social and cultural backgrounds at universities across Europe. She is interested in studying and employing new technology and ideas into practice, work and life and aspiring to help people save the world for future generations.
