Considering we live on a planet of finite resources, we sure do waste a lot of them. In addition to being wasteful, waste materials cause a potential hazard to human health and the environment.

This Micro Course helps you understand the basic operations of waste management and why your role in it is so important.

Content

This Micro Course consists of 4 parts which include self-study material, videos, and quizzes. The workload on this course is approximately 3 hours. Part 1: Introduction
Part 2: Waste Management Operations
Part 3: Waste Management in Circular Economy
Part 4: Conclusion

Tasks

To complete this course, you will need to pass 4 mandatory tests and submit course feedback. Please go them through in the order they appear on the Content page. This way, you’ll start with the basics and move on to the more challenging topics.

Assessment

The Micro Course is assessed on the scale of Pass/Fail. To receive a certificate via email, you will need to complete all mandatory activities, and at get at least 50% of them correct.

Identify differences in linear and circular economy waste management
Understand your personal role in the transition to circular economy in the field of waste management

Your instructor is Liisa Routaharju, M.Eng in environmental technology, with a focus on circular economy and environmental management.
