Exercise: Breathe light to breathe right
📝 Instructions
- Lean back or lie down in a relaxed position.
- Place your hands on your diaphragm.
- Let your breathing settle and slow down for a few minutes.
- Use nasal breathing and diaphragmatic breathing.
- Gradually reduce your breathing volume:
- Inhale slightly less air than normal, while maintaining regular rhythm
OR
- Inhale the normal amount of air, but slow down the rhythm.
- Aim for approximately a 30% reduction in breathing volume.
- The goal is a tolerable feeling of air hunger that doesn’t disrupt your breathing.
- If you push too far and breathing becomes irregular, take a break to catch your breath for 30 seconds.
- Continue for 5-10 minutes, 2-3 times a day.
Extend the practice to tasks like reading, washing dishes, working on the computer and walking to create a permanent habit.
