Exercise: Breathe light to breathe right

📝 Instructions

  • Lean back or lie down in a relaxed position.
  • Place your hands on your diaphragm.
  • Let your breathing settle and slow down for a few minutes.
  • Use nasal breathing and diaphragmatic breathing.
  • Gradually reduce your breathing volume:
  • Inhale slightly less air than normal, while maintaining regular rhythm

OR

  • Inhale the normal amount of air, but slow down the rhythm.
  • Aim for approximately a 30% reduction in breathing volume.
  • The goal is a tolerable feeling of air hunger that doesnt disrupt your breathing.
  • If you push too far and breathing becomes irregular, take a break to catch your breath for 30 seconds.
  • Continue for 5-10 minutes, 2-3 times a day.

Extend the practice to tasks like reading, washing dishes, working on the computer and walking to create a permanent habit.
